I like that Twitter and Instagram (and maybe others) have this feature. It seems like it’s a counter to the endless scroll and endorphin drip we get from social media.
Of course, it could be a win win for these companies. It’s less work to build endless scroll, coming back to the same content will create boredom, and it might even form an behaviour of getting users to revisit the website more often, versus just keeping the window open.
