You Can Only Feel Great

If you want to get out of the house, it might be that you can only get out if you feel great. Tired? Could be the first symptoms of disease. Scratchy throat? You could be killing someone. That itch in your armpit? It’s Black Death.
But the reality is that a fever is not a sufficient indicator that someone isn’t ill or carrying a transmissible illness. And you know what… we shouldn’t be OK with having flus and diarrhea and all the other horrible things as being par for the course. Chicken pox was a rite of passage until the vaccine became common in the US in the mid-1990s. That cold we braved through to get some work done or to get groceries might have killed someone.
We also shouldn’t be complacent and accepting of not knowing the source of what’s ailing us. Is it a virus? Bacteria? Cancer? It shouldn’t be OK in 2020 to not know. Until then, we’ll need to hole up until we feel absolutely great.
