Where to Go?

Yesterday, I struggled with Google Maps and Waze to find the right entrance to a park. The issue was compounded by how English transliterations were spelled and not knowing the proper spelling in the original language. A car full of kids and navigating for parking around tour buses — and an unplanned potty stop — eventually led us to leave the visit as more of a safari from the car than one on foot.
While Google Maps in some incarnation has been around for 14 years and Waze has been around as well for about 12 years, the experience is still not perfect when trying different languages. It’s hard to say what percentage of use cases fall into this scenario.
Maybe there’s a way of forcing parking directions when going to a busy place or at least requiring that users opt out of this. It could end up saving a lot of time and driver distraction.
