Where Is The Music Coming From?

And the race to stop it.

The call ended and all of a sudden, the music started to play. I was wearing my Bluetooth headphones. It was a French song and I immediately turned on my phone, looking for Spotify, and went to press pause. However, nothing was playing.

Dun dun dunnn.

The music was coming from… my laptop. It was only then that I figured out how to pause.

This has happened a few times. Normally, it’s a good thing that when Bluetooth connects, that the music starts to play where you left off. However, what if you were doing something else on one device and then it connected to another?

What appears to be lacking in the Bluetooth interface is context for a connecting. Am I turning on the device for the first time? Was I playing music before a call? What was happening before?

Let’s hope the next gen of devices gets a little bit smarter so we’re not left scrambling to press pause.
