What the Maps Don’t Know
Again, experiencing Waze in a new place, I’m always curious about a few things:
- How new users interact with something you’ve been accustomed to for a long time
- How they handle things going wrong
It was interesting to observe the learning and adjusting, including how to disable the app, enter new navigation, look up addresses, or when the maps were just wrong. We’ve all had to go through learning stages but it’s a bit of a treat to watch others go through the same, to at least learn how to learn faster.
It might be helpful for Waze to not bombard the new user with all the features but rather, over time, observe how they interact and then offer nudges to troubleshoot.
