The Power of a Walk
For the first time in awhile, I was able to take a walk to a meeting instead of driving. I forgot how amazing it is to move legs for a bit as the scenery changes.
A few years back, I would take my calls while walking through a forest. I put on a large headset that was corded to my phone. It resembled that of a football coach on the sidelines but it provided wonderful voice quality and active noise suppression. When it wasn’t windy, it was an amazing way to physically feel a bigger picture, get some exercise and just make the day much more tolerable. During a time of extreme stress, it was a lifesaver.
I know that I would receive weird stares from passersby but at some point, I stopped caring. Maybe I would create a trend, like changing a baby’s diaper in a men’s bathroom.
Tomorrow, I was reminded of this power of a walk. It’s something we should always have ready in our thinking toolkit.
