Understanding Better Than We Can

I love stories like Google’s Project Euphonia. The outcome of the project is to help with speech recognition for those with speech impairments. Technologies eventually spread from the mainstream to the margins but can have a much bigger impact when they get there.

Looking at the trajectory of these projects, it might mean that technologies might be able to better understand us that we can. When that happens, technology may become the intermediary between us.

Hopefully, this helps us understand each other better so that we can treat each other more kindly, remove our biases, and just allow us to be better people. It’s the opposite of the AI doomsday scenarios.
