I don’t own a TV but I watch shows. I exclusively watch on my laptop. It’s the same for the rare family viewing of a show or movie.

Sometimes, I like to sound cocky and say use the fact that we don’t own a TV to show how erudite and non savage we are. However, that would defy that the trashiest shows can make there way into our home.

I’ve wondered about what could make the ideal device for a home like ours?

  • Small, portable
  • Bright display
  • Good audio quality
  • Resistant to falls
  • Can be locked to resist touch input
  • Can stand up on its own
  • Lasts a long time (hours) on a charge

Some tablets could fit this role but so far, the humble laptop has met our needs for flexibility. Maybe there is a market opportunity here?
