Three Ways to Use Ubi Portal with Alexa for Phone Calls

One of the most used Alexa Skills in our house is the Ubi Portal Skill. Of course, I’m biased, but I use it most for setting up calls with family. However, there are three ways that it can be used on a daily basis. They can be set up for free (Twilio will charge for an account) on portal.theubi.com and using Alexa.

  1. “Alexa, tell portal find my phone”

This lesson will initiate a phone call to your phone and help you find it.

2. “Alexa, tell portal call family”

This lesson will initiate a conference call between your phone and one or more family members’ phones.

3. “Alexa, tell portal get help”

This lesson will initiate a phone call with a pre-determined message to a family member. You can also tie it to sending an SMS and an email.

For a daily user, the Twilio fees over the course of a year should be under $10.
