I have an opinion on UBI (Universal Basic Income). It was something I thought about as I encountered it working on our Ubi (The Ubiquitous Computer). Both the opinion and UBI are on their way.

The key is that the terms “universal” and “basic” do not always equate to “fair”. However, if we want to prevent ourselves from having to hole up in castles while the rest of the world plots a purge, we will need to make sure that we’re all taken care of.

An UBI is one way to get there. As many other systems break down, this will be the way we can move forward.
