In the song “Teach Me How to Dougie” the ask to be taught how to Dougie is repeated 26 times.

Fine! I’ll teach you how to Dougie. Here’s a free six week course on how to dance it:

Hip Hop HP208 — The Dougie

I created a dance academy called “D-AI-NCE ACADEMY” (eye rolls welcome) and a course syllabus for learning the Dougie. The exercise took less than an hour with a majority of the time spent cleaning up formatting of in Word and finding a way to host it. I learned a lot about Word formatting but not enough to reduce the workload. Google and OpenAI couldn’t help there.

The heavy lifting of creating the course, the logo, the content — that was handled through generative AI. I even picked part of the tagline for the academy from a list of ones that were, well, mediocre.

Now, the course still needs an instructor and that’s not something that AI could do — yet. Dancing the Dougie takes finesse though I do admit it’s probably something most people could master in short order. It’s a dance that amateurs can dance at a club. Here’s a real person teaching it:

However, the structuring of the classes in a way that could help impart the material seems to be effective and a bit thoughtful. It definitely doesn’t seem machine-made.

The prompt for creating this is called a “SuperPrompt” by Brian Roemmele and is an article on his Multiplex site. It discusses strategies to push large language model-based generative AI’s to dig deeper and think more. It’s like finding out that uranium can be used to heat water. The techniques here will help unlock the capabilities of AI in making our lives better.
