I spend hours a day on Spotify listening to the same songs over and over again. It helps take the cognitive load over deciding what the next song is and I’ve put together a list of songs I can tolerate listening to while working and over and over again.

That said, after a few weeks, I break down and can’t tolerate listening to these songs any more and need to take a break. It reminds me of the freezing cycle of nitrogen…

Spotify is becoming a giant and it’s not a surprise. It’s a great service that makes it easier to access songs. The revolution for Spotify happened when it became easier to access music legally than illegally. It’s like Napster from 20 years ago.

However, there are still things that are a pet peeve…

  • The disappearing interface on Android when music is playing

However, most of all, my annoyance is accidentally startling my family when I’m not home by unintentionally playing music on my Echo. Yesterday, this woke one of my daughters from her nap. Bedlam ensued.

The default should be to continuing playing on the interface that’s being interactive with the app. It’s a small grievance but solving it would likely save many from a similar situation.
