Sort By Magic
Since Kickstarter’s inception, it labeled as an option in its “sort” feature “by magic”. Sure, you could pick “most funded” or “most recent” but magic seems appropriate for a website where you might by something you never get. You can see all of the projects that Kickstarter things you’ll like.
I like the tongue-in-cheek approach to calling algorithm based sorting magical. Here, the user knows and chooses to engage with an algorithm, rather than one that locks in the user and tries to get her to continue to be engaged long enough to click on an ad.
It was the fashion about a decade ago for startups to be more playful with their wording or messaging, having an almost irreverant tone. Kids these days… they just look so professional.
