Everyday, I go by a herd of cows. I’m definitely a dairy lover but there are some aspects of it that make me wonder if this consuming animals and animal by products is the right thing to do. Even if I don’t eat them, at some point, my consumption of milk is leading to their demise. Milk cattle will be put down after a few years of miserable milking.

With all the talk of lab grown meat, one of the easier opportunities is in cow-free milk. Not milk alternatives, but actual milk. This milk can come from artificial mammary glands in a lab, or by a process of brewing the milk. Consider Muufri by Perfect Day.

By the end of the decade, real milk grown in a lab will be the norm and more likely much cheaper than in the lab. Also, we might see the quality go up to be much better than the milk we use today. There will still be milk, but it will be small batch and artisanal.
