Recently, my daughter binged watched the series Salt Acid Fat Heat. She ended up asking for everything to include some combination of this. What I love about Samin Nosrat’s analysis of cooking is that it breaks down all the complexity of cooking into a simple rule that can result in enhancing the flavor of most dishes.
Rules of Three in comedy and writing, the bad news sandwich, ask in the form of a question — all of these are other simplified concepts that can make something easier or shortcut to better results. What I like is that we now have tools that can condense human knowledge into other shortcuts.
With Generative AI, it’s easy to come up with lists but even better is when we can hone these into better and better advice that condenses human knowledge — or at least knowledge a large language model has ingested. Here’s an example of a hone list from ChatGPT:

Human knowledge is not static and is actually accelerating. What we know about the above areas is likely going to change over the next few years as more information gets published. However, it’s likely we can distill much of what’s in the generative AI training sets by asking for advice.
