My Google Home disconnected awhile back. Finally, after months of staring at it on my desk, I set it up again. It took about 2 minutes but that was enough of a barrier to keep me from going through the process. The longer a device is disconnected, the more likely it will remain disconnected (the Rule of Disconnect… totally made up).
A nudge on my Android phone to notify me of a disconnect and to get me reconnected could have actually been very helpful for me getting over this hurdle. I wouldn’t found it invasive either.
We get nudged for all sorts of reasons — why not for reasons that can actually make things easier. An email could do the trick as well.
