Room for More Skills
At 50,000 Skills, you’d think that you’d have seen it all. However, there is still a lot of potential for existing and new skills… multimodal interactions.
Most of the Skills for Alexa involve voice only interaction. However, there are already multiple Amazon-provided and soon third party devices that have screens for feedback and touch interfaces. Why not use these?
As well, of the rumoured eight new Amazon Alexa devices to be coming to market, it’s likely that a few of them will be touch-based. This is probably where we’ll see some growth.
Existing Skill makers might be able to give a boost to their skills to add screen based interaction and new Skill makers could take advantage of a wide open market adding visual interaction.
