Reaction Videos
It’s become a recent trend for people to post reaction videos. It’s often the case the reaction and commentary are much more entertaining than the video itself. The old content becomes absorbed into the new.
Reaction videos provide a glimpse into the potential future of entertainment. What if our entertainment was much less passive but actually more social. We’d consume media and be able to see how our friends reacted at different scenes.
Heck, we could create a viewing circle for content and then watch everyone’s reactions to different clips. Or, content could be created by having friends’ reactions stitched together into a new clip.
The result is a glimmer of hope into the de-socializing and isolating aspects of social media. What if it could actually help people interact with each other and unite in a kindhearted way? Live? Synchronously?
That seems like something to be excited over.
