Amazon announced that third party Alexa devices, aka Alexa Built In, will have the capability of “announcements” similar to those capabilities currently existing on first party Amazon devices. This is a huge move to reduce the capability gap between Amazon and third party devices.
Of course, it also means new requirements of Alexa Voice Service enabled devices. Security and reliability need to be assessed for this to work work.
Push of announcements will be critical for Alexa and its powered devices to have life affecting applications. Basically, if they know something about you that could affect your well being, they’d need to address. The only what do to that is through speaking to those close to the device.
