I’m not sure what it is, but WhatsApp seems to have a butt dial issue. Today, it was more literal. I could hear I a ring tone coming from my back pocket only to realize that i was inadvertently calling my wife.

It would be great if some apps experimented with feedback elements that could capture when an unintentional dial is done and then put together all of the screen swipes and taps that had happened in advance of this. Or better yet, capture the communication that happens before and after a butt dial to make sense or build a model.

We really should be beyond butt dialling by this point.
