No Tap

We’ve come a long way with payments and what I observe is that cash is rarely used and tap by payment card is often used. More and more, I see phone tap payments being used.

We’re probably going to see by the end of the decade the use of proximity payment. First, it will be … “Would you like to use your credit card?” Which will really mean can the card stored on your phone through Bluetooth 6 be used to process the payment. Then, the culture will shift to automatic payments.

The barcode may take longer but better image processing might mean a newer generation of barcodes that scan more quickly. It might mean holiday crunches are more tolerable.
