No Face Detected
One of the aggravating user experiences is face unlock not working. However, I’m a bit frustrated with Samsung’s message, at least on the S8, when this happens. “No Face Detected” — sure, it’s accurate from a developer experience, but I’m right here.
Maybe it’s some insecurity coming up, but I have a face! It’s looking right at you. Two eyes, a mouth, a nose… maybe some other identifiable structures.
Nope… not detected. It would be great if the messaging was different. Like “We’re having difficulty using face unlock” or “Face unlock isn’t working as expected”. Be humble, face unlock… you can honest if you’re not unlocking.
Or better, instruct on how to work better.
Best… just work better. Allow for multiple enrolment to get different nose flaring angles.
