No Chrome-Based Google Assistant

It’s still strange why Google hasn’t enabled voice triggered interaction on Chrome. Yes, running a trigger word would eat up power, but why waste the chance to have another end point for Google Assistant. OK, OK… voice trigger is hard. But why no quick launch key or button?

This would seem to be low hanging fruit that was never picked.
