Having a lot of experience in doing one-handed typing over the past week, I’ve started to see some limitations in what’s currently available for voice dictation on the market. I recently wrote about it using the voice dictation tool in Google Docs for writing posts and some of the items on my wish list. What’s interesting, is that there isn’t the equivalent of this type of tool on other services (MS Office online, for example).

Microsoft Garage also offers Dictate for Office but it’s only available on Windows machines. The Microsoft Bing speech API page also provides a demo of their speech to text service. This demo page could potentially be used for typing quick messages.

However, what’s still missing on the laptop or desktop-based voice of experience is a simple web tool for voice input. This is my request for it to the universe!
