MaxPods
Long after they were released, Apple’s AirPods Max are finally getting my attention. My thoughts can be summed up… AirPods Meh-x.
It was only a matter of time before Apple came out with headphones after its Beats acquisition nearly seven years ago. The acquisition at the time was a bit of a head scratcher but 2012–2014 was a period of weird hardware acquisitions by big players like Google and Nest or Facebook acquiring Oculus.
Now one thing that doesn’t jump out about AirPods Max is Siri. This is really where Siri could shine. Apple might have missed an opportunity to do something unique — create a 4G (or 5G) device that can standalone and be screen-less, with Siri being front and center.
That would have been a wow factor.
Maybe they can still implement in future versions.
