Mandelbrotian Mandelbrot
Midjourney’s fifth version is spectacular at taking words and creating breathtaking images. I’m continually impressed. Yesterday, I wrote how it’s getting better at mimicking nature. One of the improvements in the new version is mock food photography. Clearly, the service has learned from many closeups of food from restaurants, cooking shows, articles, etc.
What this might mean, combined with learning from language, is innovative combinations and presentations that have never been considered before. Consider the title of this post.
I’m ambivalent to mandelbrot.
It’s like biscotti except because it’s served in thicker pieces, absorbs more saliva. But what would it look like if you added Mandelbrot fractals to it? I hadn’t thought of an icing drizzle that kind of looks like it’s hand painted on the outside. However, I could almost taste it and the layer on the outside looks nicely caramelized to give it a deep sweet taste.
My idea for a cooking show is for AI to create the image and for chefs to have to create it within a fixed time. AI-human cooperation to create more interesting things for humans.
