MacBook Touch Bar’s Killer App

It’s not music control.

I’m not a huge fan of the MacBook Touch Bar. I prefer having physical buttons and not dealing with menus. Pausing music? My old MacBook is intuitive. Volume up and down? There’s a button for that.

I’m sure I can customize the Touch Bar but I haven’t yet.

Another problem is that I tend to engage Siri when trying to press the delete button. It’s just a tiny bit unsettling that there’s this bar that images disappear into.

However, there is one place where the Touch Bar shines… it’s during presentations. Normally, I love presenter mode in PowerPoint because I get a clear glance of the time that’s past and what’s the upcoming slide. More often, I’m presenting online and have to do a screen share. In this mode, it’s difficult to figure out presenter view.

This is where the Touch Bar comes in… it shows the new few slides so you can know what’s coming up.

I’d love to see these images brighter and if I had more wishes, it’d be to have distinct buttons that are physical with the image or haptic feedback when the buttons are pressed.
