It’ll Be OK
While we can brood over how AI might eventually destroy humanity, it’s more likely that AI is going to have an even more transformatively positive impact on our lives. In the end, we are the ones building and using the tools and except for some bad actors, which we definitely need to prepare for, we tend to want to make life better.
The result is that there are those who are taking the GPT3's and DallE’s out there and thinking about how to apply them to make things easier, better, and kinder for us. There is much more good out of these that even bad actors can even imagine destroying.
Yes, we need to be responsible in the application of AI and to think about potential downsides, we need to at least equally imagine the incredible upside technologies that can free us from drudgery and hunger. Things will move forward. It’ll be OK.
