It Only Exists in AI

Looking for furniture can be a frustrating experience. Looking for something custom-made can be extremely frustrating.

When you’re doing something custom, you have to become a project manager and end up doing much of the work in iterating with some you hired. No, that’s not really fun.

What we really want is the beauty of custom with the simplicity of clicking and entering a shipping address. What’s even more frustrating is that for many of the things that are really unique, they just don’t exist. They’re AI-generated images that funnel one back into the regular, standard cut and paste style of product.

We’re going to see more of this bait and switch as a result of AI-generated images. People have always done this, but now they have the means to do it at scale.

What we really need is the ability to generate amazing and unique products with scalability. Hopefully, AI generation can further do this. In our furniture example, what if it were to make the next steps and create the plans, assembling instructions, and equipment list to actually build these custom pieces? Then, it could manage the project to source and manage the talent to make and eventually assemble the finished product.

This is the real work that’s needed beyond the pretty images.
