How I Used ChatGPT Today

I used ChatGPT to calculate the hours worked by a babysitter. I’m normally sent a message with the hours written as a schedule of start and end times, in Hebrew.

I have to spend a minute or so going through and converting this to hours and double checking my math. This time, I plopped the message into ChatGPT and then double checked its work.

Trust by verify.

The service was able to parse the numbers and understand that the message looked like a work schedule. As time passes and I see that the service doesn’t make mistakes, I’ll trust it more and might not check over its work as often. Or, I’ll ask it to double check its work.

Parsing and cleaning up text to make it usable is a super skill of these LLM services. It is hopefully saving human life’s worth of time everyday.
