A few days ago, I needed to do a transaction that required filling transferring ownership. It’s been more than a decade and usually such a transaction required that I go to a government office, take a number, and wait in line. Then after I’ve filled out a form, it’s then that I’ve discovered that I’ve done something wrong.

However this transaction, one that usually happens a few times in one’s life, was completed within a few minutes using a government website. I was really impressed. There are many things that go wrong day to day, but it’s always nice when they go really well.

Could the process be improved? Yes. Was there some confusion on my part? Yes. However, the fact that it took mere minutes rather than hours was a reason to rejoice. When there’s a large volume of these transactions, we can potentially save hundreds of people lifetimes every week.
