Every few weeks, I google topics I’m interested in to read news or any changes. Here, I noticed something I hadn’t seen before — ads for the search term. This seems bizarre. One link was for Mosa Meat, a competitor for other startups in the space. The second was for an article on why lab grown meat wouldn’t work.

Here’s how it looked:

It’s interesting to see ads for technology that’s not available. It be like running ads for brain-computer interfaces, or perpetual motion machines, or CRISPR spas.

I might be influenced by listening to too many podcasts by economists. The online ad market is very efficient. When companies start to compete on advertising for search terms, it could be a leading indicator of a technology about to launch. That would be exciting.
