Even charities have jumped on the Black Friday bandwagon. But really, shouldn’t it happen before Black Friday?

Or, move Giving Tuesday to Giving New Year’s Eve. That way, you can qualify for a tax deduction.

Otherwise, juxtaposing a “giving” event next to a buying event seems to suggest you’ll get more for what you’re buying. Maybe this is the case for matching donations.

However, probably an effective event is to have a fundraiser based on some rare or priceless experience tied to this event. That way, the consumer still consumes but gives back some good.
