Whoa… can you feel that? The earth’s tilting has paused momentarily.
I’m posting this article at 10:27 PM EST on December 21, 2023. That’s the winter solstice when in the Northern Hemisphere, daylight starts to get longer and longer.
I was thinking about the parallels to many things in life and solstice and equinoxes. While things seem there darkest, that’s when the change actually happens. It takes some time but we’ve endured the darkest times. At the equinox, it’s actually when the greatest changes are happening, even though things seem pleasant.
Same with changes in technology. It’s when things seem like they’re standing still that underlying changes are happening that will completely shift directions and how we look at the world around us.
What things seem like they’re taking forever to change? Carbon emission reductions, home robotics, flying cars. It could be that the shift has already happen and we’re just starting to accelerate, though now it feels we’re in one spot.
