Customized Experiences
As the cost of personalization through generative AI falls, the possibility of creating bespoke experiences will rise. While I’ve written before that this may create silos of one and the loss of a shared culture, especially when it comes to video, it may also mean some fantastic experiences as a group.
In WestWorld, visitors were treated to a realistic experience that was somewhat bespoken to them but perhaps the writers weren’t yet exposed to the power of large language models so that the “hosts” could operate outside of their prescriptive “loops”. The events that we might experience in the future will be Wonka-esque.
Expect more pop-up exhibits, more art and scripts generated on the fly, more bespoken dining with the menu being unknown to both the chef or diner before the event begins. Expect the customization to be done as soon as one books the experience or within the experience itself, with customization components to be baked in, similar to the photo during the ride. We’ll be upsold different levels of experience at some venues, or it will be completely baked in.
We can expect these eevents and experiences to be a lot more exciting and engaging and a reason to still go out of the house, despite everything being available online or in VR.
