Eufy is an AVS device that has been on the market for close to 10 months. The reviews aren’t too bad:
It was the dottiest of dot-type AVS integrations and saw its price drop at one point to under $20. It set a standard (albeit short term) for AVS enabled devices.
Now, looking at the new crop of AVS speaker products, there hasn’t seemed to be much movement over the past few months since the Eufy. Yes, there are more AVS speakers and we’re going to see the next generation as smaller and cheaper than previous. But, the form factor is still the same.
The real evolution of Alexa (and Google Assistant… though it’s far behind) is when it breaks free of speakers and gets into many kinds of hardware devices. Then, all sorts of creative interactions can come to the surface.
