While some cables were being reorganized, our Echo was disconnected for a few hours today. But the Google Home remained plugged in. It was interesting to have it fill the role but it reminded me of the things I like about the Echo and dislike about the Home.

First, we’re talking about an original Echo Show versus a Google Home Mini.

I really like that I can see clearly if the Echo has heard me. The acoustic echo cancellation seems to be much better, and the Echo Show doesn’t play a playlist whenever I request a song. These are things Google can likely fix easily… it should.
