Canary In A Browser
In my more rebellious early 30’s, I liked to live on the wild side and take chances. My craziest example of living on the edge was using Chrome Canary. At the time, the regular version of Chrome and my Macbook were having a difficult relationship and memory would be leak without end.
With Canary, it often resolved the problem but sometimes introduced new ones. Eventually, after enough headaches, I decided to let the canary out of the cage and moved back to regular Chrome.
Having a customer-filled team of beta testers is an amazing way to test out features, prevent instability, and build loyalty among the diehards. Goole does it well with Canary but all companies with large user bases should consider this.
