I’m excited to be at SpeechTEK today to talk about the upcoming opportunities in voice. We’re now in the frothiness of the voice revolution and hundreds of devices are on the market now and soon new ones will be hitting the market that bring voice interaction into peoples’ homes.

There are three areas where we’ll be seeing advances:

1. Voice Technologies
2. New Interfaces
3. New Devices

By “New Interfaces”, I’m referring to APIs like Alexa Gadgets that can coordinate physical interactions with voice interactions.

The challenges and opportunities will be in creating compelling new experiences (rather than just another Skill/Action), creating a matrix of multiple responses based on many inputs on the user, and embedding a transferrable voice experience into more devices.
