Diving through the weekly “What’s new with Alexa?” email, it’s interesting to see how many of these questions are related to general knowledge. “Alexa, can I eat brie on keto?” is one of the examples. Question / answer (as we called in the Ubi days) is an interesting but not a killer app for voice. There is an endless long tail of questions and no love when you don’t get a question right. While Amazon is farther ahead on voice first hardware, Google is much further ahead on question / answer. It doesn’t matter, though. As long as you can handle the most common questions reliably, people don’t hate on your too much.
