An AI powered bot can beat a human at poker. It’s not really a surprise. The computer can perform many more calculations and it was only a matter of time before it had learned enough to be better at the probabilities than humans. The computer is not really lying or deceiving… it’s just playing the best probable move based on what it’s learned.

This is even before the computer has analyzed facial patterns, voice, or other inputs. What will it be capable of then?

Poker is has a confined set of operations but we are slowly seeing AI’s pattern recognition expand into more domains. The challenge now is boiling down complex issues into a set of pattern recognition tasks.

Similar to classic SNL “All Drug Olympics”, maybe we’ll start to open up challenges to AI vs AI or vs AI-enhanced humans?
