Alexa, I’m Not Your CUSTOMER

Something weird happened today. Alexa called me her customer. Not directly. During a conversation with family, I asked “Alexa, what’s the population of Alabama?” Answer, answer, answer… then “Other customers also wanted to know about the population of California. Can I provide you with that answer?” (or something along those lines)
CUSTOMER?!!!
User… I can tolerate that. But customer? Alexa, I understand all of this is to get me to consumer Amazon products and services but you don’t need to be so blunt about it.
Alexa, why not call your “customers” people? In the end, this is what they really are. Not some user of the service, but a person who wants to interact.
As Fergie would say in Fergilicious, “…but I’m tryin’ to tell that I can’t be treated like clientele”
