Alerte Amber

Yesterday (I think… all the days seem to blend together now), there was an Amber alert. I like Amber alerts that are not nuclear meltdowns (or attacks). However, this one was a repeat of something we had been hearing before… stay inside. It missed an opportunity to push an app for doing tracing and alerting.

However, the Amber alert system was diluted again when a minute later, the French message was pushed. If there is a character limit and we must received the message, why not include it in the length given for the original message?

Also, for non-imminent threats (as in… I don’t need to take action over the next few minutes), the best type of messaging is just to send a text. Save the real Amber alerts for duck and cover.
