A Dotty Switch

The ecobee Switch+ has Alexa built into it. It’s also an Internet-connected light switch. Now, it’s on sale. In the US, it’s about $40, which puts it five dollars more than an Echo Dot.

However, there are some benefits over the Dot:

• It doesn’t take up a socket
• It controls your lights
• It’s at mouth level, which means not hiding behind any furniture
• Has a light and motion sensor in it

Having sensors in every room is a game changer. ecobee already has an remote sensor to better model the home. Incorporating a temperature sensor into the light switch would be even better.
